Why this page?
In college I kept handing tool recommendations to classmates. This page is the durable version of that habit: what I use, and why I settled on each one.
OS
Arch Linux on a Thinkpad T470 and a desktop, with Sway as the window manager. Wayland throughout.

I switched from bash for better plugin support.
My Swiss army knife. I have used it since my first year of college.

I run several LLMs through it, right now nvidia/Qwen3.6-27B-NVFP4. I prefer to "operate" it and understand a solution before I use it.
